1 cup Quaker Oats
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. sugar
2 cups plus 1 tsp. buttermilk
Preparation/Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl.
Knead lightly,
and then put into two 9" x 5" loaf tins.
Bake at 425 degrees for about 45 minutes.
Depending on how thick you slice the bread,
you might get 15 slices per pan. This is beautiful
with fresh butter and jam, cheese or whatever you
like (salmon, chutney or with soup or stew).
